Here’s a step by step process to dice a mango.
First, wash your mango. Then take note of the mango’s profile. (I have olive oil and vinegar bottles holding the mango up so I can photograph it).

You’ll notice one profile is thinner that the other. Above is the narrow profile. Below is a bit wider.

Put the narrow profile facing you. Slice through and down about 1/2 inch to the right of the center.

Take that piece and score into pieces. Don’t cut through the skin.

Pick the piece up, and push underneath to pop it inside out.

Slice off the diced pieces. Repeat for the other side. That will leave the remaining mango looking like this:

Slice off the remaining skinned sections. Then slice away from skin. Slice fruit off the pit as well.


A large mango will yield about two cups. Enjoy.
